Avraham Friedman (stage name Fried) is perhaps the most popular Jewish musical entertainer. His music includes traditional Chassidic melodies as well as original compositions. His music is traditional yet modern, and tends to integrate many styles of popular music with Jewish lyrics and themes.

I love the klezmer niggun Hupp Kazaak, and Benny Friedman's song Yesh Tikvah, and Eighth Day's song Yalili. They are all very Gevaldig !!

This song originated in Ukraine. In Ukrainian, the words would be "от козак" (transliterated Ot Kozak). See Ukrainian-English Dictionary by C.H. Andrusyshen (page 406).
The words mean: what a brave warrior.
The Ukrainian soldiers were called Cossacks. They still call themselves the Kozak nation козацького роду (Kozatzkoho Rodu) in their National Anthem.

Hi, I'm from Ukraine. While your interpretation is also valid, it's seem unlikely to me. Hupp (hop / гоп ) means a sudden jump / hop, or exclamation (imperative Hop!) that people say when dancing to encourage high jumps. It gave name to the popular Ukrainian folk dance called Hopak. Responder
